Fire and Ice Fire and Ice winning at her debut in Hoppegarten
Fire and Ice won at her debut against a well bred and highly regarded field. She is trained by Sarah Steinberg in Munich, who trained her brother Fantastic Moon to win the German Derby, Gr.1 and Grosser Preis von Baden, Gr.1 among others. Her regular rider Rene Piechulek was in the saddle.
After winning on debut, FIRE AND ICE stepped straight into stakes company, finishing third in the Großer Preis der Burckhardt-Gruppe (L.) at Hannover, and then third again in the Diana Trial (Gr.3) at Hoppegarten.
Her luck turned in Hamburg: cantering to post for the Hamburger Stutenpreis (Gr.3) she lost a shoe, and when re-shod a nail pricked the sensitive live (quick) area of the hoof. She was uneven thereafter and has been retired to the paddocks for breeding.
