27/06/25 3yo Icon Bling Adds The Norsk 2.000 Guineas to his CV

pinhooked by Stauffenberg Bloodstock and sold at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales

ICON BLING"IconBlingNorskGuineas.jpg" by LOPE DE VEGA produced a sparkling performance to capture the Norsk 2,000 Guineas, staying unbeaten this season and adding yet another Classic laurel to the honour roll of STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK, who pinhooked the colt as a foal and raised him at Schlossgut Itlingen.
Ridden with supreme confidence by Sandro De Paiva and trained by Jan-Erik Neuroth for owners Bling Enterprise, the three-year-old tracked the pace before quickening clear inside the final furlong to beat main rival Wassim by three decisive lengths, collecting the NOK 190,000 first prize.
“He impressed me today. The ground wasn’t really in his favour, but he fought all the way and won decisively,” stated trainer Jan-Erik Neuroth.
The victory keeps ICON BLING´s 2025 record a perfect 3-for-3 and cements his status as Norway’s leading Classic colt. Bred by John Keegan and the Lope de Vega Syndicate, he first caught the eye of Philipp Graf Stauffenberg of STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK at the Tattersalls December Foal Sales, was raised and prepped at Schlossgut Itlingen, and later sold on to Willie Brown at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales.
ICON BLING will be aimed next at the Norsk Derby in late August, where connections hope he can extend his unbeaten streak and further enhance the growing Classic legacy of horses STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK has been involved with.
