The 3yo filly SANTAGADA by SOLDIER HOLLOW unleashed a determined late charge to land the Japan Racing Association Trophy – Hamburger Stuten Meile, Gr.3. Ridden by Andrasch Starke for trainer Peter Schiergen and owner Gestüt Park Wiedingen, the bay filly collared Godolphin’s favourite Ilda Rosa in the final strides to score by a neck, with Quebec a length away in third.
The victory adds a third Group win to SANTAGADA’s résumé and confirms her status as one of the best milers in Germany. Her share of the purse was €32,000 from the total €55,000 on offer, on officially good ground.
She was prepped by STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK on their farm at Schlossgut Itlingen on behalf of her breeders for the BBAG Yearling Sale, but had to be withdrawn due to registration issues.
