Review 2022

2yo FANTASTIC MOON (Sea the Moon-FRANGIPANI) was the highlight of 2022 for the breeding operation of GRAF UND GRÄFIN STAUFFENBERG. 

For the first time since Marion and Philipp are breeding, they produced a Champion 2yo and understandably they are very happy and proud that the horse which achieved this result, has as his 3rd dam FRAULEIN TOBIN, the mare Marion and Philipp met through and started them off. Furthermore FANTASTIC MOON is unbeaten having won twice as a juvenile and is heading into the 3yo season as the leading contender for the German Derby. ZALACAIN (Camacho-ZEGNA) is an other promising 2yo winner, having won at Longchamp. Both have been sold by STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK at the BBAG Yearling Sales.

7 foals were born in the past year for GRAF UND GRÄFIN STAUFFENBERG, all but one at SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN. The broodmare band has been further streamlined containing now 9 mares, 2 of them in partnership.
