16/02/17 Via Firenze finished 2nd in the Gr.2 Balanchine at Meydan

VIA FIRENZE (Dansili-Via Medici) finished a fantastic 2nd place in the Gr.2 Balanchine at Meydan, beaten only a neck after finishing strongly from behind. Bred by Haras de Saint Pair VIA FIRENZE was prepped for the BBAG Yearling Sales at SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN and consigned and sold by STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK. She was the most expensive filly at the BBAG Yearling Sales that year, when sold to Meridian Bloodstock, who acted on behalf of Haras de Etreham and Ecurie des Charmes. Put in training with Pia Brandt, she won first time out last year at Chantilly and finished 3rd on her last appearance in 2016 in the Listed Prix Satamixa at Deauville. Ridden by Maxime Guyon, VIA FIRENZE showed a lot of speed finishing fastest of all in this Gr.2 and looks sure to win a pattern race.
