28/04/13 3yo ZEUS an impressive winner and next Classic hopeful

3yo ZEUS (Lomitas-ZEPHYRINE) won very impressive at Jagersro in Sweden and is aiming to follow his brother ZENATO and his sister ZEGNA to become the third Classic winner for his dam ZEPHYRINE and their breeders Graf und Grafin Stauffenberg in Scandinavia. This is a timely boost for ZEPHYRINE as she is currently fighting for her life, having given birth to a filly foal by MONSUN 2 days ago. Unfortunately this filly was born with a wry nose and had to be put down.

However Frederik Reuterskjold seems to have an other good horse in his care as ZEUS was only racing for the second time and the way the 3yo colt won suggests that he could be able to follow in the hoof prints of ZENATO who became Swedish Derby winner in his care and ZEGNA who won the Norwegian Oaks last year, when trained by Frederik for Mr Ascot as well.

ZEUS was purchased by Meridian Bloodstock at the BBAG Yearling Sales 2011 out of the consignment of STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK on behalf of Mr Ascot
